Many thanks to the Magistrates who visited Year 6 recently. A mock trial was held in class where the children had to consider whether the defendant, Alex Took was guilty or not guilty of the theft of an iPad worth £200! Following a long deliberation Alex Took was found guilty.

To celebrate the appointment of our Digital Wizards, the school is running a competition for Years 2 to 6 to design a character to represent digital responsibilities / work in school.

Digital Wizards are pupils in each class from Year 2 to Year 4 who will help support the use of digital equipment in the class.

You can use any digital graphics package, or create a picture on paper and email the picture as a usable photo or create a picture on paper and scan then e-mail your image.

Your image will have to be sent electronically via e-mail, by using a cd-rom or a memory stick.

E-mail ysgolywern@cardiff.go.uk. Type ‘Dewiniaid Competition’ in the subject box.

Alternatively send your cd-rom or USB memory stick to Mrs Williams, Dosbarth Derbyn, Mr John, Yr.5 or Mr Wason Yr.4.

Congratulations to Miki Curtis and Mali Thomas (6T) who have been chosen as part of Cardiff and Vale Football Squad for the forthcoming year.

Many congratulations to ‘Y Wern ar Waith’ company who were awarded the second prize in the iCans Challenge across Cardiff. It was such a close competition with one point between Y Wern and the winners. The company succeeded in making a profit of £1844 with half of the money donated towards Velindre.
