Safer Internet Day- 10th of February 2015!

We are holding a ‘ Safer Internet Day’ poster competition to celebrate ‘Safer Internet Day’ on the 10th of February 2015.

You can include important messages such as ‘ Stay Safe Online’, ‘You never know what to expect, be safe on the Internet’ and ‘Use the internet carefully.’

You can use ‘Paint’ or another appropriate graphics package to create your poster.

The winning poster will have:

• Good spelling accuracy
• A clear message regarding internet safety

Email your posters to ysgolywern@cardiff.gov.uk and put-Internet Poster and your child’s name and class in the Subject box.

Closing Date:- 9th of February

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Sumdog competition for Cardiff schools. Congratulations to Steffan Rhys Thomas who won the individual competition and to Mr. Williams’ class for winning the competition within the county. Well done!

Many thanks to P.C.Warner who talked to Year 6 this afternoon about the important issue of keeping safe on the internet.

Year 6 welcomed the author Lowri Cooke to class this morning. Working with the author the children expressed their opinion on our class novel ‘Coed Du’, a novel about a German prisoner of war who escaped from a POW camp near Bridgend. Following her visit the class have written their own book reviews.

Congratulations to Emily Chirighin who won the Urdd Cross Country competition.

Rhodri Thomas has played many rugby games for the Cardiff Schools’ team this year. Following the team’s recent success, Rhodri will now play in the D.C.Thomas Cup Final held at the Millenium Stadium. Good luck to you Rhodri.
